Hooray! After my brief foray into super large works I've gone back to small format.
I think I'm better at smaller pictures; my brush is bigger in relation to the work, and it suits my style of painting. I've also dispensed with the tight retentive graphite underdrawing. In some ways it was starting to suck the life out of the pigments.
I am very pleased with this. I am going to do another one to pair it, and try them in the Discerning Eye at the Mall.
